This weeks blog is a look at how Gen Z is shifting towards content creation đ˝Â
If you asked people 10 years ago âdo you make contentâ the answer the majority of the time would be ânoâ or âwhat is thatâ.Â
But now that'
s changing.Â
65% of Gen Z class themselves as video content creators, not just the consumers (recent study by YouTube) âÂ
It's such an honour watching this industry grow from back when I was a kid and when gaming or/and content wasnât and sometimes still isnât sometimes considered a âreal jobâ. But this study really shows how diverse and influential content creation is becoming, especially within my niche, gaming.Â
A massive shift is Gen Z is one of the first generations to grow up with user generated content apps like YouTube becoming the norm to watch and create instead of traditional broadcast TV.Â
Along with the boom of TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, making content creation easier than ever to create and edit yourself and not need to hire editors. Allowing people to get truly creative and expressive with their content and not just consuming.Â
This is still an industry in its infancy I believe and I wouldnât be surprised to see how much more this space changes within the next 5 years.
