Halo Championship Series London: An Infinite Experience

I've just came back from one of the best weekends of my life. I got to watch the Halo Championship series live as it was the first time in history that its ever been hosted in Europe.

I’ve been a massive Esports lover since young and following the comp scene is a massive passion of mine. I attended CDL London right before lockdown and the experience then was phenomenal. Yet the scenes this weekend were a sight to behold.  The event sold out instantly when it first went live which was a great sign. UK Esports, we’re so back!

I love watching all types of competitive sport but Call of Duty and Halo always have a special place in my heart and getting to experience this live, and in London was incredible. The vibes and experience were pure magic. Not to mention the old school feel of the venue. It was in Twickenham Stadium but the set up felt like the old LAN days with the players right opposite each other which provided an amazing and intense atmosphere for us fans watching.

But also getting to watch inspirational people from the Halo scene in person from who I used to watch on the TV from when I was young always feels surreal. I had the pleasure to meet many of those idols the weekend just gone which was an amazing experience. Especially since I’m now doing casting for the European Halo League so have been covering some of these teams prior to the lead up and being involved in the process from casting the European teams games in the lead up to HCS.

I even got the spotlight on me with a community show match on the main stage! Me and 7 others battled it out on a custom game where I had the joys of getting sniped by the legendary Walshy which I’ll never forget.  I hope this won’t be the last time we get to experience HCS in the UK or Europe.
