Usually May is the dry period for gaming especially if you’re a FPS lover like me. BUT this year we’ve been blessed by the FPS gods.
No longer have we got to wait until October for the new Call of Duty. Instead we have Ubisoft's launch of XDefiant with previous playtests being extremely positive and I can’t wait to rack up my playtime hours in this game.
XDefiant is the first FPS game in forever to not feature Skill Based Matchmaking (SBMM) which is so common in games nowadays when it was first introduced as early as 2007 which is insane.
Its so exciting to see some diversity coming in the FPS space as its been an area dominated by Call of Duty for years.
But XDefiant is the only exciting game to be happening this week... (rare I know, more than one game dropping in one week)?!
The First Descendant is a Third Person Shooter and its Technical Playtest is happening this weekend. I played the first play test last year and it was super promising and fun to play so I’m buzzing to be able to play this again and see which developments they’ve made since.
I’m a part time streamer now due to also lecturing at university, casting tournaments and for the European Halo League and also run my own consultancy business but for weeks like this I’m ramping up my hours which is refreshing to do. Plus it means I can truly get stuck in.
